Joel said in his speech: 'I really didn't expect this, Strictly usually wins everything. Big thanks to ITV first of all for believing in this silly show, it's so silly and so wonderful, it has brought joy to so many families and homes.
'It's a pleasure to do it. The whole team loves doing it. Thanks to all the celebrities who were on the show.'
Judge Mo Gilligan said: "People laughed at him when he first came out and now he's won a Bafta." It's a great escape from reality... people at home don't want to watch something depressing. We're just the face of it, aren't we, Joel?

Taking to the stage, the 42-year-old actor said: "God, I really didn't think this would happen, and I love the actors in this category so much."
Whishaw also said that "everyone on the show is amazing" and "most of all thanks to Adam Kay for writing this wonderful role." I feel very honored and blessed.'
The medical drama is based on Kay's book This Is Going To Hurt: Secret Diaries Of A Junior Doctor, which describes her training as a doctor in the NHS.

Accepting the award for the best individual documentary, the four-time Olympic champion dedicated the award to 'trafficked children'.

The award for reality and constructed reality was given to psychological adventure show The Traitors, and when accepting the award, presenter Claudia Winkleman, 51, said she and the team were "delighted with this, thank you very much".

Lenny Rush took home the award for Best Male Comedy for his highly acclaimed performance in Am I being Unreasonable?
Anne-Marie Duff won Best Supporting Actress for the comedy Mean Sisters, saying she was "completely shocked" and thanked the cast and production team.
It was a big night for the Irish Apple TV+ drama, which also won the award for drama series.
Adeel Akhtar won best supporting actor for his role in Sherwood, thanking his mother for "smuggling" him into youth theater when his father wanted him to be a lawyer, and his wife who "seven years ago agreed to go on a date with me ." ', before addressing diversity and inclusion in his speech.
BAFTA also paid tribute to stars including talk show host Jerry Springer, Strictly Come Dancing's Len Goodman and presenter and drag queen Paul O'Grady, who have passed away in the past year.
