If you're a newbie and want to plunge into the hellish world of Diablo 3, don't worry! It might sound a little complicated, but we're here to help you with all of that in this beginner's guide.

- Activate the "Elective Mode" in the game options

- Adjust the difficulty level to your own pace
- pick up everything that falls down

- Browse build classes and search for the perfect gear
Always start with a seasonal character
In Diablo 3, you can create four types of characters: Normal, Hardcore, Seasonal, and Seasonal Hardcore.
It's always recommended to choose a Seasonal character, as each season has unique endgame armor sets and items that you can get for completing objectives, and you can't get them outside of the seasons. However, once the season ends, your seasonal character will turn into a normal character, so it's a win-win situation.
Hardcore is not recommended for beginners. Because if you die your character is permanently dead and you cannot revive and you will lose all your items. This is only for experienced players, and even then only if you don't get frustrated easily.
All character classes are good
There are currently seven classes in Diablo 3: Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Monk, Wizard, Mage, Crusader, and Necromancer. If you're worried about picking the wrong class, don't worry! All classes in Diablo 3 are good and no one is better than the other. It really just depends on your playstyle.
Barbarian and Crusader are tank classes and depend on the strength value. Demon Hunter and Monk are both speed and damage oriented and require Dexterity stat. Witch Doctor, Wizard, and Necromancer are all Wizards and depend on Intelligence score.
Each class has its own strengths and weaknesses, so none counts as more "OP" (overcharged) than another, especially when you reach level 70 of endgame content. For example, Wizards can do a lot of damage with their magic, but they are "soft" because they have less health than a Crusader or Barbarian.
Activate the "Elective Mode" in the game options
As you play and level up your character, you'll unlock skills in different categories. By default, Blizzard chooses which type of skill is assigned to which button, and that usually means you have to use one skill from each category (because Blizzard mandates it).
However, the best way to play is to not listen to Blizzard and use pretty much any skill that appeals to you. Would you like to use two attacks that regenerate your resources (mana, rage, hatred, essence, spirit, etc.) instead of just one?
Simply enable "Choice Mode" in the game options and you can use any ability, not just one from each category. It is always recommended to activate it immediately and it opens up many possibilities in terms of character build customization.
Play the campaign if you are new
If this is your first time playing Diablo 3, we highly recommend playing the story campaign mode. The story is decent, but the campaign will teach you the ins and outs of the game and all the mechanics step by step.
Playing through the story is also a bit slow, but it's a good way to engage with everything. You can also change the difficulty level mid-game, and you'll get pretty close to 70 just by going through everything.
Adjust the difficulty level to your own pace
You might consider starting with Normal if you are new. However, it is recommended to choose something higher because you will get more experience and gold, so you will level up faster.
The great thing about Diablo 3 is the fact that you can change the difficulty at any time, even while playing. If you find it too difficult, you can go deeper. If it's too easy and not challenging at all, you can increase it. The only thing is that you can only go up or down one level of difficulty. So if you want to go beyond that, you'll need to quit your current game and change it in the main menu before you start.
When you reach Greater Rifts in endgame content, you can change the difficulty of those races independently from the rest of the current game.
pick up everything that falls down
Diablo 3 is a game that's all about loot. During the game you will find loot from enemy mobs, chests, objects and other events.take it all, even if it's garbage. Because even if it's scrap, you can use crafting material or sell it for gold.
There are different rarity levels of items. Gray and white are literally trash, but again, you'll want to recycle them to make rugs that will come in handy later. The blue ones are magic items and you will start with them as they add some stats and other bonuses to your character. Yellow ones are rare and stronger than blue items and have more properties. The orange items are powerful Legendaries and the green items are part of the sets you aim for at the end of the game.
Even if you want to use legendaries and set items, sometimes the stats or bonuses are bad and not useful for your build or playstyle. When that happens you should save them for rarer crafting mats you need or even later extract their powers in Kanai Cube (Act II).
You will also find gems that can be added to gear with sockets for more stats and bonuses. And gold is pretty easy to get, especially if you're playing on higher difficulties.
explore your surroundings
Some areas in Diablo 3 are big and sprawling, but it's in your best interest to explore just a little while killing those demons and collecting loot. That's because you never know when you'll encounter a glowing Resplendent Chest (chests that glow yellow and usually contain decent loot), a Treasure Goblin (or their many other glowing friends), or unique enemy mobs that drop special items .
Exploring the maps will also help you become familiar with the areas, which will come in handy later on during bounty rides. When it comes to rewards, you want to get them done quickly, so knowing exactly where to go early on definitely helps.
Switch to adventure mode after completing the campaign
After completing the campaign, the game is not over yet! Instead, you've basically just arrivedrealGame that is in adventure mode - no hand here! In Adventure Mode you will find Nephalem Rifts, Great Rifts, Challenge Rifts, and Rewards.
Nephalem Rifts do not require a key and are full of hostile mobs. You kill enemies to fill up the Rift Gauge, which then spawns the Rift Guardian when full. You'll still get loot and gold drops from enemies, and you can continue exploring the rift even after the Warden's death.
Larger Nephalem Rifts require Keys, which are obtained from Horadric Caches (Bounty Rewards) and normal Nephalem Runs. You can adjust the difficulty of Greater Rifts independently from the rest of the game, and it's always a good idea to play harder, as completing higher levels of Greater Rifts means more Blood Shard storage.
Greater Rifts differ from Nephalem Rifts in that there is a time limit to get a Legendary Gems bonus upgrade at the end, there are no loot or gold drops from mobs, and everything else dies when the Guardian spawns. You get a lot of loot for killing the Rift Guardian. This is how you will do most of your gear hunting in the late game.
Challenge Rifts open after you create Greater Rifts. Challenge Rifts is essentially a snapshot of another player's Greater Rift, giving you your character with all of Paragon's levels, abilities, and gear, along with an exact recreation of the Greater Rift's dungeon layout. The goal here is to beat the original player's time using the exact same gear and abilities they had. It changes every week and they have the following class rotation order: Demon Hunter, Necromancer, Barbarian, Mage, Monk, Wizard and Crusader.
The rewards consist of going to each act's map and then clearing all of the maps' reward objectives to get a Horadric Cache of Tyreal. These stashes contain legendary crafting materials unique to each act and required to craft and use Kanai's Cube. Each map has five bounties and there are five acts to complete, so a full bounties round has 25 bounties. This is much quicker if you team up with someone else as you can split up the work.
Browse build classes and search for the perfect gear
Now that you've reached level 70 and are starting endgame content, get ready for gear hunting! It's always been Diablo, but it's always been fun to be a part of.
At character level 70, it's best to keep an eye out for some of the best builds for your class to help you blast through the Greater Rifts. For example, I like playing a Multishot Demon Hunter build with the Unhallowed Essence armor set and Yang's legendary recurve bow.
Each class build has a specific armor set tailored for them. It is therefore highly recommended to look at what you want your endgame build to look like (proper abilities and runes) and find out the appropriate gear for it. A good place to start is with theSeven Icy Veins Devil 3.
Now save Sanctuary from Prime Evil, Diablo
Now that you know how to get started in Diablo 3, what are you waiting for Nephalem? The world of Sanctuary is waiting for you to stop Diablo and the lesser evils from destroying humanity.
